APIC Short-term Internship Program
The 4th APIC Short-term Internship Program
From February 2-28, 2017, the 4th APIC Short-term Internship Program took place. Participants in the program included two students from Sophia University (Ms. Baba and Ms.Takei). One of the primary purpose of the program, embodies in the mandate of APIC, is for students to increase their understanding for international cooperation. The schedule of activities was designed for students to improve that understanding in practical work context at the APIC office and elsewhere.
The schedule of the programs during the period was as below:
Feb. 2 – Internship begins. Introductions and outline of the program
Feb. 13 – The 9th Gathering of the APIC international Cooperation Discussion
Feb. 16 – The 333rd Lecture on Global Issues
Feb. 24 – Interview with Mr. Isao Funaki, Executive Director of Yacmo Co., Ltd. by the APIC interns
Feb. 28 – Completion of the internship program

The 3rd APIC Short-term Internship Program
From August 1st to September 16th, 2016, the 3rd APIC Short-Term internship program took place. Participants in the program included three students from Sophia University (Ms. Kaneko, Ms.Takahashi, and Mr. Kimpara). Interns visited several international organizations during the program.
The schedule of the 3rd APIC Short-Term internship program (August –September 2016)
Aug. 1 – Ms. Kaneko started the internship program (to Aug. 29)
Aug. 9 – Interviewed Mr. Koso, Chancellor of Sophia School Corporation
Aug. 17 – Mr. Kimpara started the internship program (to Sep. 16)
Visited the Embassy of the Federated States of Micronesia in Japan
Aug. 22 – Ms. Takahashi started the internship program (to Sep. 9)
Aug. 24 – Interviewed Mr. Yamamoto, President of Aon Japan Ltd.
Aug. 25 – Interviewed Mr. Senga, Secretary General of Save the Children Japan
Sep. 15 – Interviewed the Embassy of the Republic of the Marshall Islands in Japan
Sep. 16 – Completed the entire Internship Program

The 2nd APIC Short-Term Internship Program (February 2016)
From February 2nd to March 1st, 2016, the 2nd APIC Short-Term Internship Program took place. Participants in the program included three students from Sophia University. The student interns engaged in APIC activities related to international cooperation.

Feb. 17 – Interviewed Japanese Representative Office, Asian Development Bank
Feb. 18 – The 322nd Lecture on Global Issues
Interviewed the Embassy of Jamaica in Japan
Feb. 22-24 –Pacific Young Leaders Program
Feb. 23 – Welcome Reception for members of the Pacific Islands Young Leaders program
Feb. 25 – Interviewed the Embassy of the Kingdom of Tonga in Japan
Feb. 26 – Interviewed Mr. Sakamoto, Councilor of APIC
Mar. 1 – Completed the Internship Program
