APIC Short-term Internship Program

The 4th APIC Short-term Internship Program

In February 2017, the 4th APIC Short-term Internship Program for about 19 days was implemented. The participants were 2 students from Sophia University. Throughout various events, the students increased their understanding of international cooperation that APIC implement as its business.

The schedule of the programs during the period was as below:
Feb. 2 – Ms. Baba and Ms. Takei started the internship program
Feb. 13 – The 9th APIC International Cooperation Discussion Gathering
Feb. 16 – The 333rd Lecture Regarding Global Issues
Feb. 24 – Interviewed Ms. Isako Funaki, Executive Director of Yacmo Co., Ltd.
Feb. 28 – Completed the entire Internship Program

APIC Short-term Internship Program

The 3rd APIC Short-term Internship Program

During the period from August to September 2016, the 3rd APIC Short-term Internship Program for about 21 days was implemented. The participants were 3 students from Sophia University. They visited various international organizations through APIC.

The schedule of the internship program is below:
Aug. 1 – Ms. Kaneko started the internship program (to Aug. 29)
Aug. 9 – Interviewed Mr. Koso, Chancellor of Sophia School Corporation
Aug. 17 – Mr. Kimpara started the internship program (to Sep. 16)
    Visited the Embassy of the Federated States of Micronesia in Japan
Aug. 22 – Ms. Takahashi started the internship program (to Sep. 9)
Aug. 24 – Interviewed Mr. Yamamoto, President of Aon Japan Ltd.
Aug. 25 – Interviewed Mr. Senga, Secretary General of Save the Children Japan
Sep. 15 – Interviewed the Embassy of the Republic of the Marshall Islands in Japan
Sep. 16 – Completed the entire Internship Program

The 2nd APIC Short-term Internship Program

In February 2016, the 2nd APIC Short-term Internship Program for 21 days was implemented. The participants were 3 students from Sophia University and 1 student from Reitaku University. The intern students engaged themselves in some activities related to international cooperation at APIC.

The schedule of the internship program is below:

Feb. 17 – Interviewed Asian Development Bank, Japanese Representative Office
Feb. 18 – The 322nd Lecture Regarding Global Issues
    Interviewed the Embassy of Jamaica in Japan
Feb. 22-24 – Attend the Pacific Islands Young Leaders Program
Feb. 23 – Welcome Reception for the Pacific Islands Young Leaders
Feb. 25 – Interviewed the Embassy of the Kingdom of Tonga in Japan
Feb. 26 – Interviewed Mr. Sakamoto, Councilor of APIC
Mar. 1 – Completed the Internship Program

ABOUT APIC

The Association for Promotion of International Cooperation (APIC) is engaged in various development cooperation projects for the purpose of promoting international cooperation and deepening mutual understanding between Japan and various countries.

Specifically, APIC is engaged in these following activities.

1. Supporting development cooperation projects in the Pacific Island Region
2. Supporting development cooperation projects in the Caribbean Region
3. Organizing lecture meetings regarding global issues
4. Organizing social meetings regarding international cooperation
5. Supporting recipients of "APIC-Sophia Xavier High School International Student Scholarship"
6. Training young generations interested in international cooperation

APIC was established on 8th September 1975 for the major purpose of facilitating public understanding and cooperation on ODA through the provision of information regarding Japanese international cooperation including ODA.

APIC transferred into a general incorporated foundation due to the law revision on 1st April 2013, and is continuing its activities.
